Nariaki
Nakazato
Dr.
Nariaki Nakazato is Professor at the Institute of Oriental Culture,
the University of Tokyo, specialized in modern history of South Asia.
His first book is Agrarian System in Eastern Bengal, c.1870-1910 (Calcutta:
K.P. Bagchi, 1994), based on his Ph.D. thesis at the University of
Calcutta. He wrote several articles in English relating to agrarian
history of modern Bengal and the historical experience of the Indian
people during the Second World War. He edited The Unfinished Agenda:
Nation-Building in South Asia (New Delhi: Manohar, 2001) with Mushirul
Hasan.
