Profile-Rajyashree Pandey

Dr Rajyashree Pandey is Professor of Japanese literature at La Trobe University in Melbourne, Australia. She works in the area of Japanese Buddhism and literature. She studied in Oxford and later in the University of Michigan for her Ph.D. She is the author of Writing and Renunciation in Medieval Japan: The Works of the Poet/Priest Kamo no Choumei (1998). She is currently working on a book on the body and sexuality in medieval Japanese literature. She will be affiliated to Meiji Gakuin University as a visiting fellow for 2003.
